After a couple months stuck at the anchorage between projects and travel it was long overdue to sneak away for the weekend. Gave Tengai a much needed belly scrub, and lots of sunset happy hours with our fellow sailors. Help! I finally was able to fly back with my Lewma

Help! I finally was able to fly back with my Lewmar part…only to find out it’s 2mm too large in the shaft!! 🫠 No info about same Generations having different sizing anywhere. We have been at anchor for months waiting to get going and this is a pretty heartbreaking development. Sent Lewmar an email asking for help but it’s not easy getting parts while out cruising. Send us margaritas 😂😭

We are upping our shade game this summer. Trimming the oversized yard triangle to fit our foredeck. It’s amazing how much cooler the entre boat is once the sun is not cooking large portions of the deck. We are full steam ahead prepping for an even longer off grid summer in the Sea of Cortez!

I’ve turned 40 this year, and I’ve lived many live

I’ve turned 40 this year, and I’ve lived many lives so far. In fact, I’ve just about run out of nicknames.

But one thing—especially now that I live full-time on a sailboat—keeps coming up: how did I get here?

Well… it started on a sailboat. My parents’ sailboat.

Before I have any real memory as a human, they had already done the impossible. They decided to bet on themselves and their dream. Before YouTube influencers, and long before the internet, they bought a small wooden sailboat in the middle of the Pacific and took a chance.

So no, I didn’t learn how to sail when I was 2 years old. But they did teach me something far more important: it’s okay to take chances and bet on yourself—even against all odds.

So here’s to taking chances. And here’s to those that came before.
